Just because the clutch lever moves, does not mean that the clutch moves!
Look down on the top of the gearbox on the right side. Find the clutch operating arm. Is the clutch cable connected to it and does it move the arm when the clutch lever is worked? Is it broken or merely out of adjustment? The adjustment is down there and can also be done at the clutch lever. It is very easy, you only need to tighten up the slack, by turning the screw threads!
